Look for the source of a statement
Who observed or concluded the point? A sentence attributed to the customer records a report. A finding made during an assessment has a different role. Avoid merging the two when retelling the situation.
Look for the action and its status
Words about proposed, authorised and completed work describe different stages. A recommendation alone does not establish that a repair took place. Ask the provider to clarify any ambiguous status.
Keep the document intact
Store the original record with its date and appliance context. If you write a plain-language summary, label it as your own note and keep it separate. Ask the author to correct a factual error in their document.
Use the reader as practice
The examples below are fictional. They teach a way of reading, not a standard document format, a legal checklist or a diagnosis. Real records may use different wording and require additional detail.
